The questions we always get

Do you take a cut of my bookings?
No. SaloSpa is a flat monthly subscription. We do not take a percentage of any booking, ever. That is the main reason we built this instead of using Fresha.
Does it work on an Android phone?
Yes. The whole product is designed to run on a mid-range Android phone. Calendar, checkout, booking management: all of it. You do not need a laptop or a tablet at the front desk.
How does the SMS billing work?
Each plan includes a set number of SMS messages per month for confirmations and reminders. If you go over, we add N$0.50 per message to your next invoice. SMS goes through Tuma SMS, which is also a Namibian product, so the rates stay local.
Can I take card payments through SaloSpa?
SaloSpa records card payments at checkout so your daily totals and reports are correct, but it does not process card payments directly. Live card processing via a Namibian gateway is coming in the next version. Cash and EFT work fully today.
I have chair renters. Does SaloSpa handle that?
Yes, and it is built in properly. Your renters appear on the shared calendar, but their income is tracked separately from the main business. You can set rent as a flat amount or a percentage, whatever your agreement is.
My salon is not VAT-registered. Do I still need to use VAT?
No. VAT can be turned on or off per business. If you are below the NamRA threshold, turn it off and your receipts will not show any VAT. If you register later, turn it on, enter your registration number, and you are done.
